Michael Simon Kelmer is state licensed in Illinois, Indiana and Iowa as a Forensic Psychophysiologist and is also a Certified Law Enforcement Polygraph Examiner. In 2015, Mr. Kelmer was re-elected for a second consecutive term as the President of the Illinois Polygraph Society by his fellow state licensed examiners who serve as qualified examiners in the government, law enforcement and private sector. Previously, Mr. Kelmer was elected to the Board of Directors in 2008 and was also elected and has served as the Vice-President and Chairman of the Legislative Committee in 2006. Selected to testify on behalf of the City of Chicago and the Chicago Police Department as a Court Certified Expert Witness for Polygraph and Interrogations in 2010, Mr. Kelmer holds advanced certification from the American Polygraph Association and the American Association of Police Polygraphists and is qualified to conduct clinical polygraph examinations for PCSOT. Mr. Kelmer successfully completed specialized knowledge training at the United States Secret Service with the ACFE and also holds the ACFE’s coveted certification as a Certified Fraud Examiner specializing in financial fraud. Mr. Kelmer is also qualified to conduct examinations in Britain, Europe and the Middle East and has completed advanced interview and interrogation training at a renowned institute. In 2012, Mr. Kelmer was appointed as the liaison between the polygraph examiners of a foreign country and their United States counterparts. In 2015, Mr. Kelmer was invited to lecture in the Middle East and received a special award by the examiners of a foreign country for his knowledge and expertise. He has been brought in as a consultant and provided services to numerous Law Enforcement and Government agencies, the U.S. Military, NBC, The Oprah Winfrey Show, 20/20-WTMX and the City of Chicago Police Department. Mr. Kelmer is also a regular lecturer for college law classes covering areas of polygraph examinations, interrogations and non-verbal body language. In addition, Mr. Kelmer is a Federal Aviation Administration licensed and qualified Boeing 747 Airline Transport and Instructor Pilot and has served as a federally appointed Aviation Safety Counselor. Mr. Kelmer is the recipient of the Krupnick Outstanding Community Service Award in Chicago and is an officer with an international operational police unit.
Roy Derby was elected President of the Illinois Polygraph Society in 2006 by his fellow examiners. Mr. Derby holds a Master’s Degree and is a graduate of the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Mr. Derby is a former Commander of a Major Crimes Task Force which consisted of 81 Detectives and has conducted Forensic Polygraph Exams for the Task Force. Mr. Derby has 25 years of Law Enforcement experience with over 5,000 hours of formalized training in various aspects of criminal investigations and was promoted from Commander to Deputy Chief in 2007 at a Municipal Police Department. In addition, Mr. Derby holds the coveted certification as a Certified Fraud Examiner. Mr. Derby is trained and qualified in Scientific Content Analysis and Linguistic Statement Analysis. In addition, Mr. Derby is an associate professor for a local university and is a graduate of Northwestern University’s Police Staff and Command Program where he received the University’s Executive Leadership Award.
